Ready for a picnic?

If you want to enjoy a picnic surrounded by nature without having to move your car, surely one of the best places is Località Pianac’. To reach it walk through the hamlet of Somèda and then take the dirt road. It will lead you to a meadow surrounded by larches and firs, where you can choose whether to lie down on your plaid or use the tables and benches available on site. A grill is also available for those who want more than a sandwich! On the way back you can follow the same route as the outward journey or, if you are not tired yet, continue towards Soraga and from here return to Moena, with a snack stop a Agritur El Mas.

Ski slopes not to be missed

Ski slopes not to be missed

As for skiing options, here in Val di Fassa, you are really spoiled for choice. For a non-stress skiing day, we recommend taking the ski bus in front of our hotel and reaching Alpe Lusia – Passo San Pellegrino ski area (only 5 minutes away). Over 100 km of slopes at your disposal until reaching Bellamonte. Our ski instructor Paolo’s favorite is the Laste slope. Why is that? It is large and sunny and allows everyone to enjoy skiing.

For slightly more advanced skiers, he recommends La Volata at Passo San Pellegrino, a very wide black slope, for those who love a little speed and adrenaline.

In winter Passo San Pellegrino offers glimpses and unmissable opportunities for non-skiers such as the classic walk in the Fuciade valley basin, which can also be done on a horse-drawn sleigh. For snowshoe lovers there is also another route that we really recommend, especially for the beautiful place where it ends: Baita Paradiso. Starting from the Costabella chairlift, you can keep going along the track and reach (in about 40 minutes) this fantastic place, where Gino awaits you for a tasty lunch on the beautiful panoramic terrace in the small and elegant wooden stube. The route back is the same, follow the same path until you reach the parking lot.

Saddle up!

For two wheels lovers, Moena offers many opportunities. You can take the Fiemme and Fassa cycle path (about 40 km with 550 meters of altitude difference) or start climbing up to the top, with the help of good legs or of a good e-bike!

There is a ring that starts from Moena, takes you to Malga Roncac, to Malga Panna to then descend to the village. It’s a panoramic tour within everyone’s reach, thanks to the modern e-bikes available for rent (tour can also be done by foot). A first climb to reach Malga Roncac wood, then an easier stretch flat, another climb up to Malga Panna and from there descent passing through the hamlet of Sorte and arriving again in Moena. Total time about 1.30 h.

Needless to say, you will find enough stops to refresh yourself, including typical but refined dishes from Malga Roncac and the starry cuisine of Malga Panna, so you will certainly not run out of energy!
